WORKING GROUP: PRINCIPLES AND CRITERIA
The Netherlands
A successful transition from school to the world of work can be measured by the number (or
portion) of young people which succeeded in obtaining a enduring job (for example a job for at
least 6 months) within short period (e.g.2 or 3 months) after leaving school.
Poland
The common benchmark use in Poland is the outcome of written examination for the third
class gymnasium (Table 1.) and Matura (the mature exam, Table2.). There do not exist
benchmarks for smooth transition of young people from school to the world of work.

There is visible in the Table 1. that the bigger the city the better result of gymnasium
examination. The Region of Malopolska gives also a bit higher ratios of young people passing
the Matura. In general however the percentage of young people passing the Matura is high
and rather stable year by year.
