Grounding per NEC Article 250<br />

<strong>Requirements</strong>:<br />

1. A ten-foot maximum distance from the front corner of a residence to the far side of the<br />

service is allowed.<br />

2. Table 5.2.1 lists the minimum drip loop and service drop clearance requirements.<br />

3. The cable and drip loop (lowest point) shall be at least 18 inches above a non-accessible roof<br />

(NESC 234.C.3.d, Exceptions 1 and 2).<br />

4. The three-foot distance between windows and the electric meter is not required if the window<br />

does not have a view of a living space or a restroom.<br />

5. The meter location must be approved by the <strong>Power</strong> Company prior to installation.<br />

6. Buildings should not be constructed under or adjacent to lines.<br />

7. For further details regarding meter clearances, see Section 5.1.<br />
