Audience<br />

This collection of case <strong>studies</strong> is of interest <strong>for</strong> senior <strong>and</strong> mid-level practitioners working on<br />

IUWM projects both in the developed as well as the developing world. The <strong>summary</strong><br />

document is written keeping <strong>for</strong> a technical audience.<br />

Purpose<br />

To document <strong>and</strong> disseminate good social <strong>inclusion</strong> <strong>practices</strong> in the field of IUWM. Importantly, the<br />

case <strong>studies</strong> also document <strong>practices</strong> that were less successful.<br />

Background<br />

Across the SWITCH consortium a number of demonstration projects are being implemented. The<br />

collection of good <strong>practices</strong> is meant to support the implementation of these demonstration projects in<br />

a social inclusive manner.<br />

Potential Impact<br />

Demonstration projects as well as regular IUWM project would benefit from these case <strong>studies</strong> as it<br />

would support a more inclusive approach<br />

Recommendations<br />

<strong>Social</strong> <strong>inclusion</strong> requires a thorough underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the local circumstances there<strong>for</strong>e it is<br />

recommended that these case <strong>studies</strong> are read in conjunction with the background literature that have<br />

been prepared as part of the training programme.
