the screen in Columbia Pictures'
"Fast and Sexy," costarring
Dale Robertson and

"Fast and Sexy" is every bit as
intriguing as its title promises.
Gina plays a very merry
modern-day widow who returns
to her native Italian village
after a sojourn in America,
looking for a new love and
with a large fortune to help
her fmd it. Gina immediately
becames the center of attention
in the town; the men vie
for Gina's hand in romantic
hijinks and intrigues and even
the local padre, played broadly
by De Sica, becomes reluctantly
involved. However, the
brawny gentleman who is of
Gina's own choosing. Dale
Robertson, steadfastly remains
a holdout.
"Fast and Sexy" finds Gina
at her hip-swinging, wide-eyed
and mischievous best. De Sica
is priceless as the village priest
forced to play Cupid, while
Robertson plays the he-man in
convincing style.

One of the world's most versatile
and brilliant actors, De
Sica is, if anything, even more

Gina, or LoUo as she is
sometimes known, was
launched on her motion picture
career by mere chance.
Had she followed her earliest
aspirations she would have
been a concert artiste today, a
lyric soprano. She came to
Rome, Italy, from her native
town of Subiaco, and first attracted
attention in movie
screen roles which helped pay
for her voice lessons.
Gradually the parts became
bigger, Gina's populai'ity increased
and her music lessons
went by the board. Such films
as 'Fanfan the Tulip," "Beauties
of the Night," and "Times
Gone By" earned her increasing
fame. But her greatest role,
the one that launched her as
a truly international star,
came in "Bread, Love and
Dreams." Since then she has
appeared in such pictures as
"Trapeze," "The Hunchback of
Notre Dame," "Crossed
Swords," "Never So Few,"
"Beautiful But Dangerous"
and "Beat the Devil," to name
but a few.

a professional boxer, could

Dale was born in Oklahoma
City, Okla., and was educated
;it the Oklahoma Military College.
Acting in motion pictures
was the farthest thing from
his mind while in the service
during World War II, but a
movie scout spotted his photograph
and wrote to him about
a screen career. However, Uncle
Sam had a prior lien on his
sen'ices, and it was not until
1946 that Dale turned to motion
pictures. Naturally, with
his splendid physique, he gravitated
to Westerns, playing
Jesse James and Sitting Bull
among other films. On television,
he has starred in the
"Tales of Wells Fargo" series.

Moderately wealthy and altogether
lovely, Gina return
to her native village in Italy,
from Brooklyn, ostensibly to
recover from her bereavement
but carefully keeping an eye
open for her next matrimonial
prospect. Naturally, she immediately
becomes the alluring
target of the town's several
bachelors: those with an eye
out for Gina as a meal ticket,
as well as those more romantically
inclined. They intrigue,
and even the village priest, De
Sica, is pressured to play a
sort of frocked Cupid.
One local lad. Dale Robertson,
is the local Casanova and
happy about it; he remains
strictly indifferent to Gina's
not inconsiderable charms,
since those charms also involve
a marriage ceremony. He, of
course, is the one Gina decides
she wants, and what Gina
wants she ultimately, happily,,
gets.
The lovely Gina is said to
be at her hip-swinging best in
"Fast and Sexy," and she re-^
portedly wears a stunning
wardrobe calculated to enhance
her famous beauty.
Dale Robertson is properly
rugged, handsome and taciturn
as the he-man Gina yearns
for, and De Sica, as the harassed
priest who refuses to be
turned into a matchmaker, is
said to be at his brilliant
comedic best.
