The FAST Show 2006 FAST is looking into the feasibility of organising its very own show in June 2006. It is hoped that it can be located somewhere in the Midlands in order to make it equally accessible from all parts of the UK (and even abroad). It is envisaged that the show will be a weekend event incorporating a custom show, stunting, rideout, parts/trade fair, plus other daytime and evening entertainment – all on one site where there will be camping (also close to B&Bs for those who require it) and other facilities available. However, there are a few things that need to be addressed for them to be able to do this. One area is the organisation. A project of this size will require the help and assistance of a number of people. Consequently, FAST is looking for volunteers to help in putting this event together. If you think you have a good idea that can be incorporated into the show and are willing to put your organising efforts to good use, then FAST want to hear from you. Another area of concern will be financing this venture (FAST is a nonprofit-making organisation and, at the moment, the only income generated is from the sale of merchandise). If anyone knows of any possible ‘FAST-friendly’ venue or track owners out there who would like to be involved, then please let FAST know. In fact, any dealers or traders willing to provide sponsorship for this event are welcome to contact FAST. What they will get in return is a mention in all publicity and literature and the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of what is hoped to be a developing annual event. It must be said here that what FAST don’t want is an ‘armchair committee’ of cyber-scooterists making unrealistic suggestions that they expect someone else to implement. Racing ignition system The new Malossi inner rotor ignition system is based on the stateof-the-art technology applied to both scooter cross and scooter racing. It was developed as a result of the need to overcome the technical limitations imposed by conventional flywheel ignition, which cannot ensure consistent performance over 10,000rpm and causes severe setting-up problems for race machines. After opting for a radical solution of the problem, Malossi can now offer control units equipped with an inner rotor that provides regular performance over 20,000rpm and eliminates all problems associated with conventional ignition systems.
