A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… Well Sheffield to be exact, Grant Odell embarked on a mission of customising my favourite form of the auto revolution, the Italjet Dragster. The theme coming from George Lucas’s epic is based upon the struggle between good and evil. This would always supply easily enough material to complete a masterpiece, the only problem being what to use on the Dragster’s limited bodywork. The series of six groundbreaking movies took over 27 years to complete and showed the rise, fall and rise again of the Galaxy’s guardian angels in the form of the Jedi Knights. Grant picked the machine up second-hand in November 2003 for £1300 then in the basic LC125 form, (a little on the expensive side Grant thought but he was desperate to purchase the Italjet model). However after a few months standard use and viewing Karl Russell’s Eminem at a scooter show he decided to make something more personal and enter the custom arena himself. Unlike the traditional scooter custom scene not many autos have been given the full works in the paint arena, most owners opting for race style paint and decals. Grant however had been exposed to the possibilities of trick paint, murals and bright work as his father has been involved within the traditional rally scene on and off for the last 35 years.
