A long time ago in a<br />
galaxy far, far away…<br />
Well Sheffield to be exact, Grant Odell embarked on a mission of<br />
customising my favourite form of the auto revolution, the Italjet<br />
Dragster. The theme coming from George Lucas’s epic is based<br />
upon the struggle between good and evil. This would always<br />
supply easily enough material to complete a masterpiece,<br />
the only problem being what to use on the<br />
Dragster’s limited bodywork.<br />
The series of six groundbreaking<br />
movies took over 27 years to complete<br />
and showed the rise, fall and rise<br />
again of the Galaxy’s guardian<br />
angels in the form of the Jedi<br />
Knights. Grant picked the machine up<br />
second-hand in November 2003 for<br />
£1300 then in the basic LC125 form,<br />
(a little on the expensive side Grant<br />
thought but he was desperate to<br />
purchase the Italjet model). However<br />
after a few months standard use and<br />
viewing Karl Russell’s Eminem at a<br />
scooter show he decided to make<br />
something more personal and enter the<br />
custom arena himself.<br />
Unlike the traditional scooter custom<br />
scene not many autos have been given<br />
the full works in the paint arena, most<br />
owners opting for race style paint and<br />
decals. Grant however had been exposed<br />
to the possibilities of trick paint, murals<br />
and bright work as his father has been<br />
involved within the traditional rally scene<br />
on and off for the last 35 years. His<br />
father, Colin, is what you could<br />
say a born again, having had<br />
