Figure 12 shows that the goals <strong>for</strong> each of the perspectives must be elaborated and agreed by the team.<br />
Tools: Section 3.4 of the Template documents [33] provides a table <strong>for</strong> specifying the outcome of the<br />
process.<br />
Related Tasks: The major output from this task is the most concrete in<strong>for</strong>mation to guide the<br />
development of <strong>IT</strong> strategies.<br />
Comments: In addition to the <strong>IT</strong> vision elements, in<strong>for</strong>mation generated from the capability<br />
assessment exercise (next Section) is also useful in developing or elaborating on each of the strategic<br />
areas. Although five strategic perspectives have been proposed and used in this toolkit, agencies could<br />
suitably select other perspective as suitable <strong>for</strong> their <strong>IT</strong> needs. What is important is to ensure that the<br />
selected perspectives are complimentary (and possibly balanced).<br />
