Interface Panels for Analogue Input<br />
Different systems are available for analogue input,<br />
which differ in respect to accuracy and electric<br />
robustness. The combined HK-AD20NMUX8 and<br />
HK-AD20NMUX16 AD converter multiplexer cards<br />
can be used for smaller systems.<br />
8 Voltage and Current Inputs (LP-AEP8)<br />
The panel for analogue input is<br />
designed for collecting voltages<br />
of -10...+10 V and current<br />
signals of 0/4 ... 20 mA.<br />
<strong>Laboratory</strong> devices such as<br />
heat/cool thermostats or mixers<br />
and measuring sensors can be<br />
connected to the eight potentialfree<br />
and EMC robust inputs.<br />

0/4 ... 20 mA (6-pin tuchel socket DIN45322)<br />
� Combinable with other analogue input panels<br />
An example out of many possible applications is the<br />
recording of a pressure with a pressure sensor due<br />
to 4...20 mA two wire technology. This gives out 4<br />
mA at 0 mbar and 20 mA at 1000 mbar.<br />
The measured electric value is converted to a mbar<br />
value in the PI by appropriate scaling of the data<br />
point. For this purpose, the parameters in LabVision<br />
must be set to the following values:<br />
Minimum process value 0<br />
Maximum process value 1000<br />
Minimum interface value 4<br />
Maximum interface value 20<br />
EMC robust HK-HMUX multiplexer cards together<br />
with a HK-AD20N AD converter card are<br />
recommended for bigger systems.<br />
For each of the different signal and sensor types,<br />
suitable NAMUR standard compliant interface<br />
panels are available.<br />
Each interface panel for analogue input has 8 inputs<br />
while HK-HMUX multiplexer cards and the HK-<br />
AD20NMUX16 have 16 channels.2 panels can be<br />
connected to each card. Here it is possible to<br />
combine different panels, for example a panel for<br />
thermocouples with a panel for Pt100 feelers.<br />
To protect unused inputs against corrosion and dust,<br />
you can cover them with plastic caps.<br />

Note: When using a LP-AEP8A panel, you can<br />
connect sensors with a twin or quadruple wire<br />
connection directly to a socket, i.e. without external<br />
power supply.<br />
