Interface Panels for Analogue Input
Different systems are available for analogue input,
which differ in respect to accuracy and electric
robustness. The combined HK-AD20NMUX8 and
HK-AD20NMUX16 AD converter multiplexer cards
can be used for smaller systems.
8 Voltage and Current Inputs (LP-AEP8)
The panel for analogue input is
designed for collecting voltages
of -10...+10 V and current
signals of 0/4 ... 20 mA.
Laboratory devices such as
heat/cool thermostats or mixers
and measuring sensors can be
connected to the eight potentialfree
and EMC robust inputs.

� Combinable with other analogue input panels
An example out of many possible applications is the
recording of a pressure with a pressure sensor due
to 4...20 mA two wire technology. This gives out 4
mA at 0 mbar and 20 mA at 1000 mbar.
The measured electric value is converted to a mbar
value in the PI by appropriate scaling of the data
point. For this purpose, the parameters in LabVision
must be set to the following values:
Minimum process value 0
Maximum process value 1000
Minimum interface value 4
Maximum interface value 20
EMC robust HK-HMUX multiplexer cards together
with a HK-AD20N AD converter card are
recommended for bigger systems.
For each of the different signal and sensor types,
suitable NAMUR standard compliant interface
panels are available.
Each interface panel for analogue input has 8 inputs
while HK-HMUX multiplexer cards and the HK-
AD20NMUX16 have 16 channels.2 panels can be
connected to each card. Here it is possible to
combine different panels, for example a panel for
thermocouples with a panel for Pt100 feelers.
To protect unused inputs against corrosion and dust,
you can cover them with plastic caps.

Note: When using a LP-AEP8A panel, you can
connect sensors with a twin or quadruple wire
connection directly to a socket, i.e. without external
power supply.
