bicycle wheel manufactured from glass-filled nylon us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the lost-core process, that reportedly out-performs <strong>and</strong><br />

outlasts traditional alum<strong>in</strong>ium <strong>and</strong> alloy designs. A full<br />

Vacuum bag technology is employed to make composite<br />

rocket motor cases to craft carbon fibres <strong>and</strong> epoxy <strong>in</strong>to<br />

a rapid ride over icy bumps <strong>in</strong> freez<strong>in</strong>g temperatures.<br />

DuPont’s Delr<strong>in</strong> 107, a UV-stabilised acetal res<strong>in</strong>, is be<strong>in</strong>g<br />

used <strong>in</strong> one of the latest forms of acrobatic ski. Zytel,<br />

DuPont’s polyamide 6 <strong>and</strong> 66 res<strong>in</strong>, features on<br />

snowboards, while Hytrel thermoplastic elastomer offers<br />

very good flexibility at low temperatures for components<br />

of ski boots <strong>and</strong> cross-country ski shoes.<br />
