straight-time including the accrual of all benefits of the <strong>Collective</strong> <strong>Agreement</strong>. Where employees are<br />
required to remain at work during meal periods and a meal is provided to the clients, the meal will also<br />
be provided to the employees.<br />
(c) Where an employee is required to accompany a client away from the worksite for a meal, the<br />
employee will be reimbursed for the actual cost of her meal.<br />
14.5 Flextime<br />
(a) For the purpose of this <strong>Agreement</strong>, flextime means the hours worked by an employee, or group of<br />
employees, who are given authority by the Employer to:<br />
(1) choose their starting and finishing times; and<br />
(2) choose their length of workday within a stated maximum number of hours, subject to<br />
meeting the required annual hours of work in accordance with this <strong>Agreement</strong>, through a<br />
specified averaging period.<br />
(b) The full-time employee on flextime who has a day of absence, whether with or without pay, will<br />
be deemed to be absent for the agreed upon hours, providing at least the agreed upon hours are required<br />
to complete the averaging period. If less than the agreed upon hours are required to complete the<br />
averaging period, such number of hours will be deemed to be the hours of absence.<br />

The averaging period for employees on flextime will be two pay periods.<br />
The workday for those employees on flextime will not exceed 10 hours.<br />
14.6 Staff Meetings<br />
Employees who are required to attend staff meetings will be paid their appropriate rate of pay. When the<br />
meeting is voluntary, the employee has no obligation to attend.<br />
14.7 Standby Provisions<br />

Employees required to be on standby will be paid one dollar per hour, or portion thereof.<br />
The minimum standby requirement will be four consecutive hours.<br />
(c) Should the Employer require an employee to have a pager, beeper, or a cellular phone available<br />
during their standby period, then all related expenses for such device will be the responsibility of the<br />
Employer.<br />
14.8 Conversion of Hours<br />
Where an employee's regular scheduled workday is greater than those outlined in Article 14.2(a) (Hours<br />
of Work), special and paid leaves including holidays, annual vacation, sick leave, and compassionate<br />
leave will be converted to hours on the basis of the normal full-time daily hours of work outlined in<br />
Article 14.2(a) (Hours of Work), and deducted based on the number of hours taken as leave in accordance<br />
with the employee's work schedule.<br />
15.1 Exchange of Shifts<br />

Employees may exchange shifts with the approval of the Employer, provided that whenever possible,<br />
sufficient advance notice in writing is given and provided that there is no increase in cost to the<br />
Employer.
