A. JOB EVALUATION<br />
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT #9<br />
Re: Joint Job Evaluation Plan<br />
between<br />
<strong>Community</strong> Social <strong>Services</strong> Employers' Association (CSSEA)<br />
and<br />
<strong>Community</strong> Social <strong>Services</strong> Bargaining Association (CSSBA)<br />
A classification system for the <strong>Community</strong> Social <strong>Services</strong> Sector has been established pursuant to the<br />
following excerpt from the "RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SETTLEMENT BY THE MEDIATOR DONALD<br />
R. MUNROE, QC (JUNE 9, 1999)":<br />
"The purpose of this section is to set out a process and framework to achieve:<br />
1. Wage parity with <strong>Community</strong> Health Workers;<br />
2. Standardization of wages in the Social <strong>Services</strong> Sector; and<br />
3. Elimination of gender-based wage discrimination.<br />
Recognizing that wage inequities currently exist within the Social <strong>Services</strong> Sector and that<br />
parties are committed to implementing equity changes as quickly as possible to eliminate<br />
the inequities, the parties agree to the following:<br />
(a) The job evaluation plan will be developed as per the Memorandum of <strong>Agreement</strong><br />
(Addendum – Job Evaluation Plan)"<br />
The parties agree that the classification system established by the Joint Job Evaluation Committee will be in<br />
effect for all employees covered by this <strong>Collective</strong> <strong>Agreement</strong>.<br />
B. EQUITY ADJUSTMENTS<br />
The parties subscribe to the principle of equal pay for work of equal value. The parties will continue to<br />
move towards the mutual goal of the <strong>Community</strong> Social <strong>Services</strong> Sector achieving the objectives set out in<br />
Sections A(1), (2) and (3) above, as follows:<br />
(a) The monies listed below will be applied to the rates in accordance with the principles of this<br />
Memorandum of <strong>Agreement</strong> and the Joint Job Evaluation Plan and will be allocated addressing<br />
classification with the largest disparities first.<br />

and<br />
<strong>Community</strong> Social <strong>Services</strong> Bargaining Association (CSSBA)<br />
The parties agree to abide by the Continuity of Service and Employment Memorandum which was signed<br />
on August 13, 2011 and expires on October 31, 2012.
