26.8 Maintenance <strong>Agreement</strong><br />
The parties will abide by the terms of the Maintenance <strong>Agreement</strong> including the capacity to dispute the<br />
classification in accordance with the Maintenance <strong>Agreement</strong> (Information Appendix C).<br />
26.9 Transportation Allowance<br />
(a) An employee who uses her own motor vehicle to conduct business, on behalf of and at the request<br />
of the Employer, will receive an allowance of 41¢ per kilometre.<br />
Prior to submitting a claim, employees must accrue their mileage expenses until their claim is a<br />
minimum of $10.<br />
(b) If the employee uses public transportation, the Employer will reimburse the employee the cost of<br />
public transportation for all travel on the Employer's business.<br />
(c) The parties agree that they have a duty to accommodate employees who are unable to retain a<br />
Class IV licence for medical reasons. The duty to accommodate will also apply where an employee<br />
does not presently require a Class IV licence and her position is changed to require a Class IV, but the<br />
employee is unable to obtain a Class IV due to medical reasons.<br />
(d) No employee will be required to continue to transport a specific client in their own vehicle when<br />
that client has damaged the employee's vehicle and that employee has had to make an insurance claim<br />
on more than one occasion. In such cases, the Employer will make alternate transportation<br />
arrangements for that client which may include another employee willingly using her vehicle.<br />
26.10 Meal Allowance<br />
Employees on the Employer's business away from their worksite or out of their region and with the<br />
approval of the Employer will be entitled to reimbursement for meal expenses incurred to the maximum<br />
set out below. This article will not apply to employees who, on a day-to-day basis, do not work in a fixed<br />
location.<br />
26.11 Travel Advance<br />
Breakfast $ 8.50<br />
Lunch $10.50<br />
Dinner $19.25<br />
Regular employees, who are required to proceed on travel status, will be provided with an adequate travel<br />
advance. The amount of the advance will be determined by such factors as time away from headquarters<br />
and the frequency of reimbursement.<br />
26.12 Salary Rate Upon Employment<br />
The hiring rate of pay for a new employee will not be higher than the rate of pay for an existing employee<br />
in the same classification with similar work experience, training and education.<br />
ARTICLE 27 - HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS<br />
Health and Welfare benefits will be provided by the Healthcare Benefit Trust (HBT) or another<br />
competitive carrier who is able to supply equivalent coverage.<br />

27.1 Eligibility<br />
Coverage for a regular employee under these Plans will commence on the first day of the month<br />
following the month in which the employee successfully completes her probation period or her trial<br />
period not to exceed three months.
