5.1 The Council spent a total <strong>of</strong> £44,669,000 (£60,381,000 in 2010/11) on capital investment in the year<br />

6.0 Building Schools for the Future<br />

6.1 The Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project involves the extensive building, remodelling and<br />

operation <strong>of</strong> 9 secondary schools across 8 sites in <strong>Blackburn</strong> <strong>with</strong> <strong>Darwen</strong> together <strong>with</strong> ICT managed<br />

services. The total programme capital investment is estimated at around £150M and includes 3<br />

schools funded under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI).<br />
