With the responsibility for adm<strong>in</strong>istration of the<br />
hospitals and regional development, the regions<br />
are the most important actors <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>novation<br />
• Danish regions is the professional body for the 5 regions.<br />
• The five Danish regions, have established their own <strong>in</strong>novation strategy, each region with their own focus<br />
and goals with<strong>in</strong> <strong>healthcare</strong> <strong>in</strong>novation.<br />
• Danish regions safeguard the <strong>in</strong>terests of the regions on a national and <strong>in</strong>ternational level. Further it<br />
manages the overall strategy for the regions and make sure that important knowledge acquired <strong>in</strong> one<br />
region are passed on to the others. Two executive <strong>in</strong>itiatives are:<br />
The regions Health-IT<br />
organisation (RSI)<br />
•RSI engage <strong>in</strong> jo<strong>in</strong>t tender processes and procurement<br />
of new IT-systems, coord<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g and further<br />
develop<strong>in</strong>g on the hospitals IT-systems and<br />
develop<strong>in</strong>g new services, mak<strong>in</strong>g it possible to share<br />
data across the different sectors of the <strong>healthcare</strong><br />
system.<br />
•Further the RSI has set up several goals for how ITsolutions<br />
<strong>can</strong> be used <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>novative solutions <strong>in</strong> the<br />
future:<br />
•Electronically boards <strong>in</strong> the bigger emergency<br />
departments.<br />
•Strategy on how telemedic<strong>in</strong>e <strong>can</strong> be used as a<br />
solution for optimiz<strong>in</strong>g the operation of the hospitals.<br />
•Plan for IT-support of the preventive <strong>healthcare</strong> effort<br />
for the outpatients.<br />
Knowledge shar<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
the <strong>healthcare</strong> system<br />
(ViS)<br />
•As a result of ViS, their website allows<br />
knowledge shar<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> different networks. The<br />
users <strong>can</strong> share their knowledge, ideas,<br />
experience and get <strong>in</strong>spiration <strong>in</strong> professional<br />
networks.<br />
•There has been established knowledge and<br />
idea-banks support<strong>in</strong>g the regions efforts <strong>in</strong><br />
spread<strong>in</strong>g good ideas <strong>in</strong> the relation between<br />
users, patients and relatives, eas<strong>in</strong>g the<br />
distance between <strong>in</strong>itial idea and <strong>in</strong>novative<br />
product.<br />
•Further the ViS unit work <strong>in</strong> method<br />
development and organise courses for both<br />
patients, relatives and <strong>healthcare</strong><br />
professionals.<br />
