1. Introduce a daily earnings disregard <strong>of</strong> €20 per day for Jobseeker’s Allowance<br />

<strong>and</strong> Farm Assist claimants with children. (for up to 3 days per week).<br />

2. Increase the daily earnings disregard by €7.30 per day, from €12.70 to €20 for<br />

Jobseeker’s Allowance <strong>and</strong> Farm Assist claimants without children.<br />

3. Reform <strong>and</strong> simplify the assessment <strong>of</strong> spouse’s earnings for Jobseeker’s<br />

Allowance/PRETA/Disability Allowance/Farm Assist so as to reward work.<br />

Rent & Mortgage Interest Supplement<br />

Enable recip<strong>ie</strong>nts <strong>of</strong> Rent Supplement, who have been placed on a Local<br />

Authority waiting list for accommodation under the Rental Accommodation<br />

Scheme, to take up full time employment <strong>and</strong> remain eligible for Rent<br />

Supplement, subject to satisfying the other conditions for entitlement. [April 2007]<br />

Increase the Rent & Mortgage Interest Supplement additional household<br />

income disregard applicable to those taking up part-time employment or an<br />

employment opportunity or those in receipt <strong>of</strong> a maintenance payment to<br />

50% <strong>of</strong> any additional household income up to €200 per week, subject to<br />

a minimum disregard <strong>of</strong> €75 per household per week. [April 2007]<br />

Rent & Mortgage Interest Supplement/Supplementary <strong>Welfare</strong> Allowance<br />

Increase the capital disregard for entitlement to Rent & Mortgage Interest<br />

Supplement <strong>and</strong> Supplementary <strong>Welfare</strong> Allowance from €520 to €5,000 <strong>and</strong><br />

reform assessment in line with arrangements for other schemes. [April 2007]<br />
