(b) refrain from behaviour which is likely to hinder<br />

his or her recovery, or<br />

(c) see an <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong> the Minister <strong>and</strong> to answer<br />

any reasonable enquir<strong>ie</strong>s by an <strong>of</strong>ficer relating<br />

to his or her claim,<br />

• the suspension <strong>of</strong> Injury Benefit, Disablement or<br />

an increase <strong>of</strong> Disablement by way <strong>of</strong> Incapacity<br />

Supplement in certain circumstances, <strong>and</strong><br />

• the circumstances whereby a person may<br />

undertake either employment <strong>of</strong> a rehabilitative<br />

nature or employment which is subject to<br />

certain weekly earnings limits.<br />

Article 5 amends the Social <strong>Welfare</strong> (Claims <strong>and</strong><br />

Payments) (Amendment) Regulations 1967 (S.I. No.<br />

85 <strong>of</strong> 1967) to provide that an employer who fails<br />

to <strong>report</strong> the details <strong>of</strong> an occupational accident<br />

to an <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong> the minister shall be guilty <strong>of</strong><br />

an <strong>of</strong>fence. It also removes the reference to an<br />

obsolete fine amount.<br />

Article 6 provides for the abolition <strong>of</strong> article 3 in<br />

the Social <strong>Welfare</strong> (Occupational Injur<strong>ie</strong>s) (Medical<br />

Care) (Regulations) 1967 regarding a duplicate<br />

provision relating to late claims <strong>of</strong> Medical Care.<br />

Article 7 provides for the imposition <strong>of</strong> time<br />

limited constraints when making a claim under<br />

the Occupational Injur<strong>ie</strong>s Benefit scheme in<br />

respect <strong>of</strong> certain prescribed diseases contracted<br />

from prescribed occupations or established under<br />

an “Individual Pro<strong>of</strong>” basis.<br />

These Regulations provide for amendments to the<br />

conditions for entitlement to Rent Supplement<br />

payable under the Supplementary <strong>Welfare</strong><br />

Allowance scheme.<br />

In assessing the means <strong>of</strong> a claimant for<br />

Rent Supplement, recip<strong>ie</strong>nts <strong>of</strong> State Pension<br />

(Contributory), State Pension (Transition),<br />

Invalidity Pension, Widow’s (Contributory) Pension,<br />

Widower’s (Contributory) Pension, State Pension<br />

(Non-Contributory), Widow’s (Contributory)<br />

Pension, Widower’s (Non-Contributory) Pension<br />

aged 65 or over, will have the difference<br />

between their pension payment <strong>and</strong> the rate<br />

<strong>of</strong> Supplementary <strong>Welfare</strong> Allowance payable<br />

(appropriate to their <strong>family</strong> circumstances)<br />
