MAYNARD, George William<br />
WWI<br />
Bill, son of James and Margaret Jane (Wright) Maynard, was born in 1896 at<br />
Goshen, Upper Stewiacke and served with the 106 th Battalion. After the war, he<br />
married Florence Letitia Boomer of Brookfield and settled there as a carpenter. He<br />
passed away in 1981.<br />

McLEAN, Robert William<br />
WWII<br />
Robert was born April 9, 1924, in North Brookfield, Queens County, and joined the<br />
Army in 1945 at age 21. He had his basic training at Aldershot, NS, and served in<br />
England in the Military Police. He received the <strong>Vol</strong>unteer Service Medal and the<br />
1939-45 Star. He has been an active member of A. L. Patterson Branch #087 of<br />
The <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Legion</strong> for over 60 years and is now a Life Member.<br />

McPHAIL, Wourtle Emery<br />
WWII<br />
Wourtle was born in the Magdalen Islands, Quebec, in 1908. He served in the Army<br />
in Newfoundland from 1939-45. He was a Life Member of Westside Branch #126<br />
of The <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Legion</strong>. He passed away in 1991.<br />

<strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Legion</strong> Ladies Auxiliary.<br />
MEGENEY, Ronald Kevin<br />
AFGHANISTAN<br />
Corporal Ronald Kevin Megeney (1983 - March 06, 2007) age 24 from New<br />
Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Served with the 1 st Battalion, Nova Scotia Highlanders<br />
(North). Kevin joined the Nova Scotia Highlanders as a reservist at age 17, training<br />
in Pictou, Halifax, CFB Aldershot, and CFB Wainwright. He also trained with the<br />
U.S. Marines in February of 2004. He was killed at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan<br />
after sustaining a gunshot to the chest.<br />
