The uniform insignia and the
battle equipment may have
been different, yet the reason
for being there was the same. One
soldier fought and sacrificed life and
limb so that peace may be protected
and regained, the other soldier stood
to bring a coffee, a writing pad, the
essentials of hope and peace in the
chaos of war. One soldier went to the front to face the
worst of the worst, the other came as close as possible
to serve those who served their country. With great
admiration for those who fell, and for those who came
back, The Salvation Army salutes and gives thanks for
freedom gained at such a price. As an international
movement The Salvation Army is honoured to serve
“Soldier To Soldier”.
