BRENTON, Walter Campbell<br />

WWII<br />

Walter, son of William Clark and Irene May (Goodwin) Brenton of Cloverdale, was<br />

born in 1918, and enlisted in 1940, serving in Canada, England, France, Belgium and<br />

Germany. He married Marion Campbell in 1946 and lived and farmed in Stewiacke<br />

East. He passed away in 1984.<br />

BRENTON, Walter Robinson<br />

WWI & WWII<br />

Walter, son of Robinson and Margaret (Winton) Brenton of Cloverdale, was born in<br />

1890, and served in both WWI and WWII. In WWI, he served with the 8 th Siege<br />

Battery, Halifax <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> Garrison Artillery, <strong>Canadian</strong> Expeditionary Force.<br />

He married Marion Hopkins and resided in Stewiacke town. He passed away in<br />

1967.<br />

BROWN, Harold C.<br />

SPECIAL DUTYAREA<br />

Harold was born in 1932 and served in the Air Force as a Rank Corporal as a Peace<br />

Keeper in Egypt. He received the UNEF (Egypt) Medal, Peacekeeping Medal, and<br />

Good Conduct Medal for 12 years and 22 years of service. Harold passed away in<br />

2003.<br />

BURRIS, Jeannie McBean<br />

WWII<br />

Jeannie, daughter of Ewan and Jane McBean of Liff, Scotland, was born in 1914, and<br />

enlisted as a WREN in the British Navy. She met Laurie Burris at a friend’s wedding<br />

and they were married in Dundee, Scotland, in 1945 and settled in Middle<br />

Stewiacke, where she remained for several years after Laurie’s death. She passed<br />

away in 2000.<br />
