CREELMAN, Kenneth Munro<br />

WWII<br />

Kenny, son of Hedley and Jessie (Johnson) Creelman of Otter Brook, was born in<br />

1924 and served at various places within Canada in WWII. He married Muriel Davis<br />

of Five Islands and lived on his home place in Otter Brook, where he worked in the<br />

lumber industry and became president of the Marwood Group of companies. He<br />

enjoyed horses and could often be found in the show ring with his champion Cape<br />

Cod Percherons. He passed away in 2005.<br />

CREELMAN, Lloyd Duncan<br />

WWII<br />

Lloyd, son of William and Lottie (Cox) Creelman of South Branch was born in 1914<br />

and enlisted in the Army in 1942. After training at New Glasgow and Aldershot, he<br />

was sent overseas, seeing active duty in many areas. In 1943, while on duty in Italy,<br />

he was hit by a sniper’s bullet and in 1944, was seriously wounded by shrapnel and<br />

spent many months in hospital before returning home. He married Mary Elizabeth<br />

Davis and lived in South Branch, where he owned and operated the Pine Grove<br />

Dance Hall and later the South Branch Garage. Lloyd passed away in 1993.<br />

CREELMAN, Paul Wilbert “Bud”<br />

WWII<br />

Bud, as he was known, son of David and Irene (Layton) Creelman of New Mills, was<br />

born in 1926 and joined the Army in 1944 and trained in Cornwall, ON, and Camp<br />

Borden. He spent six weeks in Woodstock, ON, taking a drivers course. He was<br />

attached to the Infantry Corps and served in Debert and Halifax. He married Joan<br />

Rak and settled in Western Canada.<br />

CREELMAN, Prescott Archibald<br />

WWI<br />

Prescott, son of Samuel Prescott and Marianna (MacDonald) Creelman of Upper<br />

Stewiacke Village, was born in 1895. He enlisted in 1915 in the 2 nd Pioneer<br />

Battalion. After returning from overseas, he studied medicine and received his<br />

degree from Dalhousie University in 1925 and did further studies in New York and<br />

Ohio. He practiced medicine in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. In 1928, he was<br />

given the position of Chief Health Officer for PEI, a position he held for 25 years.<br />

He married Frieda Isabel Creighton. Prescott passed away in 1957.<br />
