BUS 214 Principles of Accounting II 3 hrs.<br />

This course is a continuation of BUS 213. In addition to a study of financial accounting, this<br />

course also places emphasis upon managerial accounting, with coverage of corporations,<br />

statement analysis introductory cost accounting, and the use of information for planning,<br />

control, and decision making.<br />

Prerequisite: BUS 213<br />

BUS 216 Introduction to Sports Management 3 hrs.<br />

Offers a student a look at the diverse, expanding field of sport and recreation. Designed to<br />

provide a comprehensive look at the basic organizational structures found in the sport industry.<br />

Students will examine applications of managerial concepts and processes and the ways in which<br />

organizations interact with each other and with the government.<br />

BUS 300 Office Management 3 hrs.<br />

An advanced management course in which emphasis is placed upon development and<br />

application of the basic knowledge and abilities needed for management of an office and<br />

supervision of its staff.<br />

Prerequisite: BUS 301<br />

BUS 301 Principles of Finance 3 hrs.<br />

This course is a survey of the whole field of finance. The problems associated with sources, the<br />

uses of financing, and the tools of financial analysis are also included.<br />

Prerequisites: BUS 213 & BUS 214<br />

BUS 302 Principles of Marketing 3 hrs.<br />

Examination of decisions affecting the marketing of goods and services in customer, industrial,<br />

and international markets. Emphasis on the role of marketing in a managerial context. Areas<br />

include: marketing research, identification of marketing opportunities and marketing mix<br />

strategies.<br />

Prerequisite: BUS 131<br />

BUS 310 Principles of Management 3 hrs.<br />

Study of the contemporary manager with emphasis upon the behavioral and administrative<br />

processes fundamental to the successful operation of various types of enterprises, situational<br />

approaches to management are explored, with the manager viewed as a decision maker<br />

interacting with the firm's economic, technological, social, political and ethical background.<br />

Prerequisite: BUS 131<br />

BUS 311 Intermediate Accounting I 3 hrs.<br />

The content and design of this course includes intensive study of accounting theories<br />

underlying basic financial statements, with emphasis on asset accounts and their relationships<br />

to income, expense, and equity accounts.<br />

Prerequisites: BUS 213 & BUS 214<br />
