CIS 225 Introduction to Database Management 3 hrs.<br />

Fundamental concepts and terminology of database management. Teaches students how to<br />

create a database; guide planning, designing, and building a working database.<br />

Prerequisite: CIS 122 or 221<br />

CIS 322 Internet and Business Applications 3 hrs.<br />

Students will learn to access the most up-to-date information for research papers, get inside<br />

track on jobs and internship programs, locate and download news, quotes, software, graphics<br />

and participate in global discussions.<br />

Prerequisites: CIS 221 & 222<br />

CIS 335 Business Database Management 3 hrs.<br />

Database management systems organize and retrieve information, allowing the user to access<br />

the desired information easily and efficiently. Topics include introductory concepts, relational,<br />

hierarchical, and network data model, data normalization, relational algebra and structure<br />

query language (SAL).<br />

Prerequisites: CIS 221,222, & 322<br />

CIS 401 Management Information Systems 3 hrs.<br />

This course deals with the basic principles of systems theory, computer and management<br />

information system design, and quality assurance. Case studies and projects are used in<br />

presenting theory and application.<br />

Prerequisite: CIS 222<br />

Criminal Justice<br />

CRJ 100 Introduction to Criminal Justice 3 hrs.<br />

This course will emphasize a complete understanding of the entire criminal justice process from<br />

law enforcement to the administration of justice through corrections. The course will also<br />

discuss the history and philosophy of the systems and introduce various career opportunities.<br />

CRJ 210 Introduction to Corrections 3 hrs.<br />

Investigation and analysis of the history, current practices, and various aspects of the<br />

corrections system. Gives attention to the future direction of corrections.<br />
