MUS 228 Music Theory II 3 hrs.<br />
Continuation of MUS 227. Application of scales, terminology, intervals and styles of harmony.<br />

MUS 229 Arrangement 3 hrs.<br />
Survey of techniques used in musical arrangements. Independent study.<br />
Prerequisite: Permission of instructor<br />
MUS 230 Marching Band 1 hr.<br />
Designed for instrumental music includes brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments in the<br />
Marching Band idiom. Participation in Marching Band performances is required. (This course<br />
may be repeated for a total of eight hours of credit.)<br />

OTC 101 Orientation to <strong>College</strong> 1 hr.<br />
Designed to increase students' success in college by assisting them in obtaining skills necessary<br />
to reach their educational goals. Topics include time management, test taking, communication<br />
skills, study techniques, and management of personal issues.<br />
Philosophy<br />
PHL 101 Introduction to Philosophy 3 hrs.<br />
This course is designed to help students think about themselves, their values, their knowledge<br />
and belief systems, their lives, and their place in the world. Topics include the history of<br />
philosophy in the context of important contemporary issues and positions. Upon completion,<br />
candidates will be able to ground their personal philosophies in traditions of philosophical<br />
reasoning and critical thinking.<br />
Physics<br />
PHY 200 <strong>College</strong> Physics I 4 hrs.<br />
Basic concepts of mechanics, heat, and sound taught through lectures, laboratory experiences<br />
and problems. Three hours lecture, two hours laboratory per week.<br />
Prerequisite: MTH 221 or equivalent<br />
PHY 210 <strong>College</strong> Physics II 4 hrs.<br />
Continuation of PHY 200. Emphasis on electrostatics, magnetism, electronics and light. Three<br />
hours lecture, two hours laboratory per week.<br />
