welche gestalterischen Möglichkeiten eröffnen ihnen
chrysanthemen?
Es sind Blumen, die man mit Objekten gut kombinieren kann. Es entstehen
keine typischen bzw. traditionellen floralen Arrangements, für die normalerweise
andere Blumen verwendet werden. Stellen Sie sich große
Blumenbälle vor, Formen und Objekte mit Blumen gefüllt oder einen riesigen
Hochzeitskuchen dekoriert mit frischen Chrysanthemen. Auch wegen
des erschwinglichen Preises und der vielen Blüten an einem Zweig kann
man sehr viel mit dieser Blume machen. Wir wollen beweisen, dass sie
eine tolle Blume für viele Events, Blumensträuße und Dekorationen ist.
welche besonderen Accessoires und Deko-elemente
setzen sie ein?
Viele – von Weihnachtskugeln, Ornamenten, Kaminen bis zu anderen
Dekomaterialien. Wir verwenden fast alle Gegenstände, die zur
Weihnachtszeit verwendet werden, aber in einem anderen Rahmen. Das
Produkt verändert sich gar nicht so sehr über die Jahre, es sind die kreativen
Zutaten, auf die es ankommt.
Wir denken, Großhandel, Gartenfachmärkte oder Warenhäuser sollten sich
für ein Thema und eine Farbpalette entscheiden und dabeibleiben. Es geht
darum, den eigenen Unternehmensstil zu zeigen, diesen Stil für Käufer bzw.
Endverbraucher interessant zu machen und sicherzustellen, dass die
Kunden nächstes Jahr zurückkommen – zu Weihnachten, wenn sie heiraten
oder Feste feiern. Es ist sehr wichtig, den Menschen ein gutes Gefühl
zu geben.

Florists, specialty retailers, decorators and designers will find a wealth of
ideas for an individual wedding – ranging from table decoration to bridal
bouquet, from floral hearts to full church decoration. We spoke with two
furnishing and design specialists who have made a name for themselves
with events in Hollywood, New York and The Netherlands.
what inspired you to use the “Merry Marriage” theme?
First of all, we considered the organisation of Messe Frankfurt as a whole.
For a trade fair which offers such a wide variety of Christmas decorations
and silk flowers, it’s important to find a theme that is both bold and
different.
After all, Christmas is the world’s most important event, closely followed
by weddings – for us, a unique combination. At 2Dezign, we love to design
unusual themes and combinations which make the fair more exciting for
visitors. The result this time is a wedding that takes place at Christmas.
We shall present all the aspects of a wedding – an altar, a wedding cake, a
bridal couple – but the event takes place in a church which is decorated for
Christmas. The colour scheme is predominantly white and soft pastel
shades. The church will be decorated with fresh chrysanthemums – which
is unusual for both Christmas and for a wedding – but looks great. Just try
to be different …
chrysanthemums are a prominent feature of the floral
concept. why chrysanthemums?
Firstly, chrysanthemums are good flowers to work with, as they come in a
variety of types and colours ­ that’s one reason. Secondly, they can be
combined in many ways. The chrysanthemum is a wonderfully expressive
flower and quite unexpected at Christmas time – that’s what makes it
so special. Roses or orchids would have been beautiful too, but very
predictable.
which new design opportunities are inspired by chrysanthemums?
They combine well with other objects. The arrangements we create are not
the typical, traditional, floral type, for which other flowers are generally
used. Just imagine large floral balls, shapes and objects filled with blooms,
or an enormous wedding cake decorated with fresh chrysanthemums.
Other reasons for using this flower are its reasonable price and the fact
that it has many blooms on one stem – one can really do a lot with it.
We want to prove that the chrysanthemum is a great flower for use at a
variety of events, in bouquets and for decorative purposes.
which special accessories and decorative elements have
you used?
A wide range – from Christmas baubles, ornaments and fireplaces to
decor ation materials which are completely different. We use almost all of
the items that are usually used at Christmas, but we set them in a new
context. The product itself doesn’t change very much over the years; it’s
the creative ingredients that are important.
Our idea is that wholesalers, garden centres and department stores should
decide on a theme and a colour scheme and then stick to it. It’s a matter of
presenting a company’s individual style, making this style attractive to buyers
and consumers and then ensuring that the customers come back the
next year – at Christmas time, when they are getting married or celebrating
some other event. It’s very important that people have a good feeling
about the product.
