Summary and objectives<br />
To reduce food insecurity in the region of Fouta<br />
Djallon by promoting food production systems,<br />
supporting socio-economic development of local<br />
areas based on family farming, and strengthening<br />
production and sale of crops in Gaoual, Koundara<br />
and Mali prefectures (administrative councils).<br />
Target groups<br />
The 210 groups affi liated to the Fédération des<br />
Paysans du Fouta Djallon (FPFD) in the Gaoual,<br />
Koundara and Mali prefectures, 8 400 small-scale<br />
farmers – members of these groups, and 1 000 other<br />
isolated small-scale farmers.<br />

de Producteurs de Riz de la Haute Guinée<br />
(FUPRORIZ-HG); and 100 students from the Ecole<br />
Nationale de l’Agriculture in Kankan.<br />

Rice producer and farmer groups (71 groups), rice<br />
trader and processing women groups (130 groups).<br />
Also, planters, small processing facilities, palm oil<br />
trading women groups, and local representatives,<br />
government agencies, and the Union of producers.<br />
