Summary and objectives<br />
To improve food security for households affected by<br />
HIV/AIDS through increased access to quality agricultural<br />
inputs and marketing facilities. Production of<br />
fi eld and garden crops will be improved according to<br />
the specifi c needs of the target population.<br />
Target groups<br />
Rural communities in the lowlands and especially<br />
foothill regions, with a focus on people living with<br />
HIV/AIDS and children.<br />
Final beneficiaries<br />
1 500 households infected/affected by HIV/AIDS and<br />
other chronic illnesses, 300 Orphans and Vulnerable<br />
Children and 20 Community Based Organisations,<br />
in total about 8000 benefi ciaries.<br />

Summary and objectives<br />
To increase agricultural production capacity and<br />
improve the nutritional status of vulnerable households<br />
including vulnerable children, by encouraging<br />
crop diversifi cation, community-based seed production,<br />
and at household level by promoting balanced<br />
and healthy nutritional habits and sustainable irrigation<br />
techniques.<br />
Target groups<br />
Vulnerable households including Orphans and<br />
Vulnerable Children (OVC), chronically ill people, and<br />
elderly people in the 4 selected Area Development<br />
Programmes (ADPs).<br />
Final beneficiaries<br />
Communities in Mokanametsong, Mpharane,<br />
Matlameng and Makhunoane ADPs.<br />

Summary and objectives<br />
The project’s main goal is to improve the agricultural<br />
productive capacity within households through<br />
capacity building in association management,<br />
irrigation infrastructure development, training in infrastructure<br />
maintenance and agronomic practices,<br />
start-up inputs (seeds and tools), and buying and<br />
distribution.<br />

Vulnerable households, including Orphans and<br />
Vulnerable Children (OVC), chronically ill people,<br />
elderly people.<br />
Final beneficiaries<br />
2 350 vulnerable households will increase their<br />
food security (availability, access, utilisation) and be<br />
cushioned against the effects of prevailing food price<br />
increases.<br />
