<strong>The</strong> dense amber-colored non-vintage<br />
Muscat exhibits a sweet nose of toffee,<br />
maple syrup, and figs along with huge<br />
body, and no cloying sweetness because<br />
of good acidity. <strong>The</strong> non-vintage Tokay<br />
(Muscadelle) reveals a lighter amber<br />
color in addition to burnt/roasted notes<br />
of camphor, scorched earth, prunes,<br />
figs, caramel, and marmalade. Its fullbodied<br />

“Yalumba is also a fabulous source of<br />
antique fortifieds that often sell for a<br />
song. <strong>The</strong> extraordinary non-vintage<br />
Museum Release Antique Tawny exhibits<br />
a medium amber color along with<br />
notes of prunes, sweet berries, raisins,<br />
spice, and jammy, overripe strawberries.<br />
Believed to be from a 20-year-old<br />
Solera, it is delicious, but unlikely to<br />
improve. Even more provocative and<br />
distinctive is the non-vintage Museum<br />
Muscat. A killer value, it offers aromas<br />
of melted toffee, brandy-macerated raisins,<br />
prunes, maple syrup, molasses,<br />
and ripe figs. It is a stunning offering to<br />
enjoy at the end of a meal, or as dessert.<br />
Equally spectacular is the non-vintage<br />
Museum 50 year Old Antique Tawny.<br />
Readers who love the smell and taste of<br />
maple syrup, melted caramel, toffee,<br />
and pruny, berry fruit will adore this<br />
fragrant, medium amber-colored, fullbodied,<br />
unctuous, fortified treasure.<br />
None of these Australian fortifieds<br />
improve in the bottle, but they rarely<br />
change and can be kept for a long time.<br />
