Solaia<br />
Just to the east of Tignanello lies the remarkable 25-acre<br />
vineyard known as Solaia, the “sunny one”. Widely<br />
considered one of the best Cabernet blends in the world,<br />
Solaia is produced only in exceptional vintages. Smoothly<br />
blending the aromas of black pepper, coffee, chocolate,<br />
vanilla, and plum, Solaia is strikingly elegant with nicely<br />
blended tannins that support the sensation of sweetness<br />
and weight. Hints of licorice and coffee return in the impressively long finish.<br />

Tignanello<br />
Named after a choice vineyard on the property,<br />
Tignanello was introduced in 1973, and set the<br />
standard for exceptional Italian wine, pioneering<br />
a whole new category of luxury wines known as<br />
“Super Tuscans”. Tignanello is the first Sangiovese<br />
aged in small oak barrels: the first red wine<br />
in modern times to use a non-traditional grape<br />
variety (Cabernet) in the blend; and among the first red wines made in Chianti<br />
with no white grapes. Boasting an intense ruby red color with light garnet hues.<br />
Tignanello offers complex and harmonious aromas of tobacco, curry powder,<br />
blackberry and blackcurrant jam. Silky on the palate, this wine has a light hint of<br />
sweet, nicely rounded tannins in its persistent finish.<br />
