List przewodniczącego Rady Nadzorczej do akcjonariuszy Letter from the Chairman of the Supervisory Board to the shareholders Szanowni Państwo, ubiegły rok był przełomowy dla Grupy TAURON w związku z jej debiutem na warszawskim parkiecie. W ofercie publicznej spółki udział wzięło ponad 230 tys. drobnych inwestorów, stawiając ją w czołówce prywatyzacji, które cieszyły się największym zainteresowaniem Polaków. Wielu akcjonariuszy indywidualnych zdecydowało się zostać z nami na dłużej, dzięki czemu już od początku lipca 2011 roku przez 12 miesięcy będą płacić mniej za prąd. Podsumowując ubiegły rok, szczególną uwagę chciałbym zwrócić na to, że był to kolejny rok wdrażania strategii korporacyjnej, która przynosi wymierne korzyści spółce, a co za tym idzie – również akcjonariuszom. Nie możemy jednak zapominać, że żyjemy w zmieniającym się otoczeniu. Dlatego analizując nowe realia rynkowe i trendy w elektroenergetyce oraz przesłanki prawne, na początku 2011 roku Zarząd podjął działania zmierzające do aktualizacji strategii Grupy TAURON. Nowa strategia odpowiada na najważniejsze wyzwania rynkowe, jasno definiuje priorytety strategiczne oraz określa cele i zadania dla poszczególnych obszarów biznesowych. W ocenie Rady Nadzorczej modyfikacja strategii umożliwi Grupie TAURON poprawę jej pozycji wśród innych firm z branży energetycznej. Dlatego pod koniec kwietnia zaakceptowaliśmy zmodyfikowaną strategię i zgodziliśmy się na jej wdrożenie. Działania podejmowane przez Zarząd sprawiły, że w 2010 roku zauważalnie poprawiły się wyniki Grupy TAURON. W porównaniu z 2009 rokiem Grupa TAURON osiągnęła Ladies and Gentlemen, 2010 was a breakthrough year for the TAURON Group due to the listing of its shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. More than 230 thousand retail investors took part in the company’s initial public offering which made it one of the privatization transactions that enjoyed the greatest popularity among the Polish population. A number of individual shareholders decided to stay with us longer and in return, already from the beginning of July 2011 for 12 months, they will be paying less for electricity. Summing up last year I would like to emphasize that it was another year of implementing the corporate strategy that continued to bring specific benefits for the Company, and what follows – also for the shareholders. However, we can not forget that we live in the changing environment. Therefore, having analyzed new market reality and trends in the energy sector, and also the legal environment, in the beginning of year 2011 the Management Board took steps aimed at updating the Group’s strategy. The new strategy is a response to the most significant market challenges, clearly defines strategic priorities and outlines objectives and tasks for each of the Group’s lines of business. In the opinion of the Supervisory Board the modification of the strategy will enable TAURON Group to improve its position among other energy companies. This is why at the end of April we approved the modified strategy and we agreed for its implementation. Steps taken by the Management Board led to a noticeable improvement of TAURON’s results in 2010. In comparison to 2009 4
