Queen’s University and Senior Operator <strong>of</strong> the SLOWPOKE research reactor at the Royal Military<br />
College <strong>of</strong> Canada. In 1990 he returned to the UK as Senior Lecturer Reactor Physics in the<br />
Department <strong>of</strong> Nuclear Science and Technology, the Royal Naval College, Greenwich. After<br />
serving as Deputy Manager, Physics and Computing Division and Deputy Director <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Department he became Pr<strong>of</strong>essor and Director <strong>of</strong> the Department in 1999 after it moved to HMS<br />
SULTAN. He obtained an MBA from Imperial College, University <strong>of</strong> London in 1995. He is<br />
President <strong>of</strong> the Institution <strong>of</strong> Nuclear Engineers, European Nuclear Society Board Member<br />
representing the British Nuclear Energy Society, UK representative on the American Nuclear<br />
Society International Committee, Member <strong>of</strong> Court <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Surrey, Board member <strong>of</strong><br />
the UK Nuclear Training Education Network (NTEC) and Visiting Pr<strong>of</strong>essor at the University <strong>of</strong><br />
Southampton. His research interests are in reactor physics, neutron metrology and<br />
decommissioning.<br />
