“Joker” from Split Isn’t<br />
Ashamed Facing the World<br />
The recently opened shopping centre, owned by Split businessman Željko Kerum and worth<br />
70 million euros, is the first completed project that is based on the new General Urban Plan<br />
that Split received in December of 2005<br />
Brodarica in Split, featuring the just-opened shopping<br />
centre “Joker”, has recently become an<br />
unavoidable destination for thousands of visitors<br />
that wish to consume all the services provided<br />
by this project, which spreads across 54 000 square<br />
metres and has cost about 70 million euros. Along with<br />
around a hundred stores, restaurant objects, a supermarket,<br />
cinema, swimming pool for the summer and ice<br />
rink for the winter, the “Joker” centre – which received<br />
its name after the initials of Joško, owner Željko Kerum’s<br />
son – also opened many new job positions and a completely<br />
new vision of Split as a city that is getting more<br />
rewarding for investments, trading and shopping.<br />

The opening itself left many visitors breathless. The centre<br />
has four floors that surround an enormous gallery<br />
with a glass cupola at the top. The highest floor, which<br />
is reachable via an elevator and the staircase, features<br />
