Plitvice Lakes were included into the UNESCO List<br />
of World Heritage back in 1979, among the first<br />
in the world. According to IUCN, which define<br />
the eight categories of protecting natural areas,<br />
Plitvice Lakes belong to the second category – national<br />
park, which stands for a protected area with a<br />
management, primarily due to the protection of the<br />
eco-system and recreation. Out of the eight national<br />
parks in Croatia, Plitvice Lakes are the most visited, and<br />
not without good reason! They are located at the bot-<br />

the Sound of Waterfalls<br />
Whether you’re brought to this mountainous area by the desire for some delicacies or for<br />
a stroll in the fresh air along the sound of colossal waterfalls, the park will give you an<br />
opportunity to do some hiking, riding in an electric boat and train, skiing, rowing…<br />
