City Office of CRA Division at Kolkata<br />

The off-campus office of the CRA Division of <strong>SKFGI</strong> at Kolkata is well equipped with all modern aids to<br />

function smoothly and to arrange meetings and discussions with industrial Organisations for the issues<br />

related to the training and placement of students. In addition to the campus selection, the CRA Division,<br />

according to the choice of the recruiters, carries out the off-campus selection of the MBA students of our<br />

Institute at our City Office in Kolkata.<br />

Campus Office of CRA Division at Mankundu<br />

The Campus office of the CRA Division of <strong>SKFGI</strong> at Mankundu is equipped with<br />

w State-of-the-art Swami Vivekananda Auditorium to accommodate 300 students to attend pre-placement<br />

talks;<br />

w Air-conditioned rooms for personal interviews;<br />

w Online test facility;<br />

w Control and conference room to facilitate scrutiny of test papers, Group Discussion, etc;<br />

w Video conference facility(offing).<br />

The CRA team, in consultation with the Chairman, Education Division, Campus Director, Additional Director,<br />

Heads of Departments and Professors-in-Charge (Training and Placement) of Departments makes strategy,<br />

planning and implementation of various Campus drives, in-house and pool-type, for training and placement<br />

of the students of <strong>SKFGI</strong>, keeping pace with the national and global job scenario.<br />

The CRA Division is well aware of the sheer diversity of Indian economy and society, whose different<br />

shades are represented among the students and faculty, and hence it takes due care in preparing the<br />

students of <strong>SKFGI</strong> to suit multicultural, multilingual and global environment of the present-day<br />

corporations/industries.<br />

Thus, the CRA Division takes due care in planning and implementing value added programmes such as the<br />

PDP programs, Technology Training Programs and Bridge Courses in the areas of interest to industries.<br />

This adds to the credentials of the students and inculcates in them the quality of the engineering professionals,<br />

right from their college days of education. It also provides the necessary Pre-Placement Training for the<br />

pre-final year students through H. R. sessions conducted by invited distinguished professionals from<br />

different Corporate Houses and industries, as well as through experiences shared by the successful seniors<br />

to appraise their juniors of the nature of the different stages of recruitment in companies including written<br />

tests and interviews. The Division also regularly organizes talks of the experts from universities and<br />

industries thereby motivating students for higher education; it also arranges talks from professionals for<br />

educating students for taking competitive examinations such as GATE, CAT and MAT.<br />

Dedicated CRA Team<br />

The CRA crew comprises diligent members who assiduously plan and execute the activities of the CRA<br />

Division. The team, under the able custodianship of its Senior Advisor, who is an acclaimed administrator<br />

with her managerial acumen competently deal with senior HR’s of different organizations and carry out<br />

approval process to attract recruiters towards our Institute and visit our Campus. The team is fully trained<br />

and expert in handling pre-placement discussions, written tests, interviews, selections of candidates, etc.<br />

Short-Term Plan<br />

w To update and strengthen the existing computerized database of students with a view to catering to<br />

the requirement of industries in a queue response mode;<br />

w To strengthen the existing programme of acquiring the services of competent agencies to train the<br />

students in soft skill and personality development; and<br />

w To continue encouraging students for higher studies and making accessible to them all necessary help<br />

and guidance for the same.<br />

Long-Term Plan<br />

w To develop the Division as a single-window nodal point for career counselling and higher learning in<br />

Engineering and Management;<br />

w To expand the Training Infrastructure for conducting value added training programmes and to enhance<br />

the employability of students;<br />

w To Institute the best practices in the Institute in conducting and coordinating the Campus placement<br />

process for the industries; and<br />

w To build the Campus as the nodal centre of Industry-Institute partnership.<br />

Our Efforts vis-à-vis the Present Recruitment Scenario<br />

However, we are proud that anticipating this scenario, we have taken all measures to equip our students<br />

to face the GLOBAL challenge in job scenario and created a remarkable identity of the relatively newly<br />

founded <strong>SKFGI</strong> by creating multiple job opportunities to our students.<br />
