Placement<br />

In order to stand out in the present competitive world, we emphasize on managerial leadership that requires<br />

both excellent functional skills and exceptional business outlook. The Corporate Relation Affairs (CRA)<br />

Division of our Institute takes due care to implant these skills and outlook so that the students of the School<br />

are appropriately placed in the business world. It aims in matching the requirement of the recruiters with<br />

the aspiration of the students. Thus, right from the word go, the students in the Institute passes through<br />

a well designed learning process, which is designed according to the prescribed syllabus of WBUT and, at<br />

the same time, which is oriented towards and aligned to the placement of students. See the details of<br />

placement and related activities of the CRA Division (see Part A for the details of activities of the CRA<br />

Division) Page 21 to 29.<br />

Summer Internship: Learning by doing<br />

We seriously believe in the necessity of providing a bridge between theory and practice and as such we<br />

take care to see that our MBA students could learn how to apply the conceptual tools learned by them in<br />

real world situations. As such we open up learning-by-doing opportunities to our students through the<br />

Summer Internship Programme arranged by us. Thus, the students acquire hand on experience in actual<br />

business world outside the Institute.<br />

Through this programme, the Institute builds up a collaborative relation with the industrial and the corporate<br />

sectors. From this programme, on the one hand, our Institute learn as how to tune our teaching programme<br />

to actual requirements and on the other hand, these sectors also get an opportunity to identify potential<br />

budding MBA graduates for employment. The CRA Division of our Institute, besides executing the placement<br />

programme described earlier, takes care of arranging the summer internship of our students.<br />

Value Addition to Curriculum<br />

While imparting regular teaching according to the prescribed syllabus of WBUT, the Institute takes care in<br />

offering the following value-added programmes with a view to providing a wider professional exposure to<br />

our students, it being implied that the Institute would bear the expenditure towards the implementation of<br />

such programmes and that no extra fees would be charged from the students for this purpose:<br />

w ERP/SAP training<br />

w Personality Development Programme<br />

w Entrepreneurship Development Programme and<br />

w Regular visits to leading industries.<br />

Through the execution of the above programmes we develop in our students:<br />

w Managerial Competence: by teaching them the basic concepts of the subjects such as marketing, finance,<br />

problem analysis and solution, giving due emphasis on the promotion of interpersonal skills.<br />

w Global Mindset: by inculcating in them the awareness of the economic, social and political trends while<br />

also infusing in them the curiosity and the cultural sensitivity, and<br />

w Leadership and Personal Development: by teaching them as to how to harness their ambition by<br />

mobilizing the energies around them as well as how to lead a team to reach the envisaged target.<br />
