National and International Conferences in the
Campus: a Crossing over the Milestone
The Institute organizes every year a National or International Conference that gives the students and
teachers of the Institute to benefit from the deliberation of eminent personalities of International repute
participating from academic, Research & Development (R&D) and Industry sectors. The Institute students
and teachers also get an opportunity to showcase their own research work and get them reviewed by the
participants of the Conferences. The two additional attractions of these Conferences are the College
Students’ Paper Contest and the School Students’ Quiz and Oral Presentation Contest.
Chronologically, the Conferences hosted by the Institute are as follows.
w 1st National Conference on “Engineering Education in the New Century: An Urgent Need of the Hour”
(E2NC-2010), during 03 - 04 April 2010: The event was dedicated to Acharyya Jagadish Chandra Bose
and Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore on their 150th Birth Anniversary.
w 2nd National Conference on “Engineering Education in the New Century” (E2NC-2011) during 20 - 21
January 2011: The event was dedicated to Acharyya Prafulla Chandra Ray and Maharshi Rabindranath
Tagore on their 150th Birth Anniversary.
w 1st International Conference on “Engineering Education in the New Century” (E2NC-2012) during 03 -
04 February 2012: The event was dedicated to Swami Vivekananda on his 150th Birth Anniversary.
w Workshop on Maiden Day at an Engineering College, 21st April, 2012. The event was dedicated to Srinivasa
Ramanujan on his 150th Birth Anniversary. The objective of the Workshop was to apprise the heads of
the schools and colleges as well as those in the helms of decision making of the various points and issues
that need to be addressed by the students, teachers, and all concerned in academia and industries right
form the word go of imparting engineering education to students to make them globally fit in their
profession.
Technology Exhibition: TechCraze
The students of SKFGI during 12 – 16 February 2013 organized TechCraze-13, the first ever national level
Technology Exhibition within the Campus, as pre-conference event of the national conference E2NC-2013
(see Annexure B1). We are indeed proud to reveal the great practical talent and imagination of our students
to national experts attending the national Conference E2NC-13 in our campus. The main attractions of the
event were
w Track Chase (a race for the line follower robots in which the participants would bring their autonomous
robots trained to traverse a given track in least possible time);
w Race-O-Track (a race in which the participating robots, either remote-controlled or wired, powered by
electric motors, would surpass all obstacles present on the course of a given track in the least possible
time;
w Codificar (an event on C programming in which the participants would be judged on their hands-on
ability to work out a problem by writing the code and coming out with the solution by running a computer
given a problem on C and they have to write the code of it and run it on the computer.
w TechQuiz (on technical subjects)
w College Students’ Model Exhibition
w College Students’ Science Exhibition
w Workshop on “Sixth-Sense Robots” (delivered by Star Gaze Software & Technology Solutions, Delhi
attended by 101 college students)
w 3rd National Conference on “Engineering Education in the New Century” (E2NC-2013) during 15 - 16
February 2013 dedicated it to Sister Nivedita. (See Annexure BI).
