It is these elements which would need to be specified, when defining the bus industry going
forward. These standards would need to be considered for all types of bus services provision,
including BET, BRT, Feeder and local services. It is important to note that whilst many of the
standards require action by the operators and are under their direct control, there are some aspects
for example; infrastructure provision, bus priority measures, and supportive travel demand
management measures that require other bodies or authorities to take complementary actions.
These are best achieved through a partnership approach involving a range of key stakeholders.
