The DMII is a technical and supervisory qualification<br />

for insurance staff working across all sectors of the<br />

industry. The DMII provides a firm grounding in<br />

insurance fundamentals and enables candidates to<br />

build advanced technical knowledge; emphasises<br />

the integration of both practical and theoretical<br />

understanding, making this programme the key to<br />

advancing in career and servicing the customers.<br />

This programme is aimed to develop students’ progressive knowledge in;<br />

• The practical concept of risk and insurance<br />

• The insurance market place<br />

• The principles of conventional insurance and takaful<br />

• The regulatory requirements on the insurance industry<br />

• The types of insurances available in the market place<br />

• The underwriting and claims procedures and be able to apply them to given situation<br />

• Promotes a strong understanding of both practical and theoretical insurance knowledge<br />

• A comprehensive programme with a focus on applied career-specific knowledge<br />

• Provides advanced standing to attain the AMII, the highest qualification by MII<br />

• DMII certificate awarded upon completion<br />

• Insurance staff who in of need technical knowledge and practical skills at the operational level<br />

• Clerical, Junior Supervisors<br />

• SPM/GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent<br />

• 1 year or more of insurance industry experience<br />

Certification will be awarded by The Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) upon satisfactory completion of the<br />

programme and passing the DMII examination.<br />

Upon completion of this programme, student may pursue to the next level, The Associateship of The Malaysian<br />

Insurance Institute (AMII), the MII highest qualification.<br />

One subject would require up of three (3) months of preparation that comprises of 42 to 48 lecture hours,<br />

tests, final examination and study break.<br />

Total Credits: 120. A student who enters the Diploma has to achieve the minimum 120 credits threshold to<br />

be awarded the DMII. Inclusive Compulsory Subjects 105 and 109.<br />

necessary supporting documents.<br />
