INSURANCE<br />
The Associateship of The Malaysian Insurance Institute (AMII)<br />
is an exclusive professional qualification programme tailored to<br />
the needs of the business and industry. This qualification is seen<br />
as a requirement for leadership positions within the insurance<br />
industry in many countries. Graduates will gain a comprehensive<br />
understanding of insurance and reinsurance management<br />
principles that are an important part of every senior executive’s<br />
responsibilities.<br />
The AMII designation is valued as a national standard in<br />
insurance professional benchmark, appropriate for the<br />
insurance industry’s most advanced qualification, which gives its<br />
holder the credibility as a competent, skilled and experienced,<br />
and receives adequate education to provide outstanding and<br />
reliable insurance services and advice.<br />
On completion of this programme students automatically<br />
become fully qualified members and are able to use an AMII<br />
post-nominal designation to be recognised for their elevated<br />

AMII International Class<br />
The AMII International Class is an intensive study programme<br />
offered to international participants in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia<br />
on full - time basis with study duration of about 20 months. This<br />
programme has attracted participants from Japan, Vietnam,<br />
Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, Oman, India, Maldives,<br />
Iran, Bangladesh and many others.<br />
This programme is aimed to develop graduates’ advanced knowledge in;<br />
• The practical concept of risk and insurance<br />
• The insurance market place<br />
• The principles of conventional insurance and reinsurance<br />
• The regulatory requirements on the insurance industry<br />
• The types of insurances available in the market place<br />
• The underwriting and claims procedures and be able to apply them to given situation<br />
• Promotes a strong understanding of both practical and theoretical insurance knowledge<br />
• Holistic approach and learning that covers insurance management, legal and regulatory requirements, risk<br />
management, current and emerging work-based issues and challenges, all from the insurance perspective<br />

One subject would require up of three (3) months of preparation that comprises of 42 to 48 lecture hours,<br />
tests, final examination and study break.<br />

*Credits of subject exemptions may be awarded for prior learning by submitting the exemption form with the<br />
necessary supporting documents.<br />
