Adverb: cháacháa ‘slowly’<br />

Only the verb sɨ́ɨ ‘to buy’ in (17) can be preceded by the negation word mây while the<br />

preposition kàp ‘with’ in (15), the noun bâan ‘house’ in (16) and the adverb cháacháa<br />

‘slowly’ in (18) cannot.<br />

2.3.2 The Short Answer to a Yes-No Question Test :<br />

Words used in giving a short answer to a yes-no question could serve as a test for verbs (cf.<br />

Sindhvananda 1970).<br />
