Hazelhurst suffered extensive wind damage. Approximately 50 homes were without power in Lumber City, some until after 0300<br />

EST on the 16th.<br />

The Savannah tower reported sustained winds of 70 knots, with a peak gust of 82 knots. The National <strong>Weather</strong> Service reported<br />

a wind gust of 58 knots. Airport police reported roof damage to two Signature Air Hangers <strong>and</strong> a small plane flipped over .<br />

Considerable tree damage was reported throughout Savannah <strong>and</strong> 28,000 people lost electricity. WJCL-TV reported a weak gust<br />

of 53 knots.<br />

Thunderstorm winds ripped a roof off a mobile home, as well as the underpinnings. Numerous large trees were also knocked<br />

down throughout the area. Golf ball-size hail was sited by one of the mobile home occupants when running for cover.<br />
