equip yourself with a hop-on,
hop-off bus pass, or you could
zoom around by plane. But for the
ultimate in flexibility it’s hard to
beat the freedom of a campervan.
In fact, so famous has Australia
become for this style of travel, it’s
almost a rite of passage to hire
your own home on wheels as part
of your big Aussie adventure!

With a campervan, you’re your own boss
and you make the rules. Plan your route in
advance, or make it up as you go, there’s
no itinerary and nobody is going to tell you
what to do. Wake up when you want, go
to sleep when you want and avoid all that
endless packing and unpacking.
WHERE TO STAY
Campsites can be found everywhere in
Australia, from cities to beaches, and from
national parks to out-of-the-way places
you’d never reach otherwise. It’s easy to
find somewhere cheap to stay and you’ll be
given a campsite directory when you pick
up your vehicle to make planning easy. As
an absolute minimum, campsite facilities
will include clean showers and toilets,
barbecues and shared kitchen.
SAVE MONEY
When you hire a campervan, you avoid
having to fork out for an expensive place
to stay each night. Shop at supermarkets
and markets for the best value produce and
cater for yourself, while still enjoying meals
out along the way. The fridge on board
ensures you always have a supply of cold
drinks and beers, and you’re never far from
a snack when hunger strikes!

Start in Australia’s boomtown of Perth
and head south via surfing beaches to the
vineyards of Margaret River. Drive through
the forests of Pemberton to the deserted
white sands of Cape Le Grand National
Park. Next, head into the outback to the
gold rush town of Kalgoorlie then north to
the Pinnacles before returning to Perth.
