Yet today, the mixed-media/assemblage sculpturist is one of the mostrecognized and awarded environmentalartists in the world.In the mid-nineties, Dahlsen was gatheringdriftwood on the Victorian Coastline fora furniture project, when he found hugeamounts of plastic litter washed up alongthe shore. The artist accumulated 80 bagsof the garbage and dragged them to hisstudio to begin his shift to a new medium.For the last 10 years, Dahlsen has continuedto take walks along Australian beaches,127
