Donna presented the Treasurer’s Report. Motion was made to accept thetreasurers report, it was seconded and passed. Donna then presented the 2011-12year. Motion was made to accept the proposed budget, seconded and passed.Mike presented the recommendation of Russ Nutt for Treasurer from NYICouncil. David Winchester made a motion that the SC NYI appoint and accept RussNutt as the new treasurer. It was seconded and then accepted unanimously.Mike presented Donna with a thank you gift for her 6 years of service.Mike presented a report on behalf of Sarah on quizzing and a quick reporton Breakaway. Jeremey Veal gave a report on this year’s Breakaway, October 21-23, that will be held at Camp Thunderbird.Mike McAdory gave a report on TNT@TNU 2011 and the forms providedin the packet. Mike thanked Sherrie Hawkins for her help. He also thanked ScottOldham. SC won the purple division at TNT@TNU. Mike asked everyone who hadever participated in TNT to stand. A large group in the sanctuary stood, includingnumerous adults. Mike suggested the students go over the list of events, since therewere over 300 available, and invited them to participate.Mike O’Hair thanked Mike McAdory again for his hard work on the TNTevent.The Springfest report was given by David Snodgrass. David said that thisevent was the “welcome mat” for non-church going teens and a doorway to otherevents.Mike reported on Youth Camp and shared reports sent via text to his phoneby the students. Mike thanked Ellen Broome for her help at camp and her dedicationto the students. He talked about the service projects that the students participated induring camp & thanked the students for making such a huge impact on the localcommunity. The students packed over 2000 meals during camp. Those meals weregiven to a community center in the Batesburg area.Next year Jr High will take place June 5-8th with a “buffer day” between.Senior high will take place the 10-14th. Mike told a story of sitting and talking withDennis Johnson and the new camp director. Dennis, with tears in his eyes, told Mikehow important youth camp is to family camp. That it is a great primer for familycamp.Mike introduced impact director, Susan Blankenship to give the Impactreport. She said that this was the best year so far. They performed in eight servicesas well as Jr High, Sr High and family camp. Susan wants to broaden the ministry tobeyond the church walls. She mentioned the possibility of spending a weekendperforming at a youth club in Spartanburg.During the NYC 2011 report, Mike thanked Jeremey Veal for histremendous work on this project. Mike shared a text that strongly suggested NYCfor those students eligible to go in 2015. The video of NYC 2011 was shown to thestudents.125
