The SouthCarolina <strong>District</strong> Hispanic Ministries report was presented, and motion was made,seconded, and voted to adopt.LaNora Jensen presented highlights of the <strong>District</strong> Treasurer’s Report.Motion was made to adopt the treasurer’s report; report was adopted with aunanimous vote and words of appreciation.Bill Harmon presented the <strong>District</strong> Finance Committee report and pointedout changes that have been made. A correction was made on page C-9 to deleteConway’s $2400 making the total Missional Growth Ministry Investments $72,500.Motion was made and seconded to adopt this report. After some explanation ofWorld Evangelism Fund and Fair Share Percentages chart for this year and history offluctuation in Fair Share percentages, everyone was assured that the percentagewould be lower if /when possible. A question was raised as to why the percentage isbeing increased when the district completed the year in the black. Significant cutshave already been made in the district operations. Churches were encouraged toparticipate as much as possible in reaching the goals. Motion was made andseconded that a written ballot be used to vote on this report; vote was divided on thismotion. Dr. Middendorf ruled that a paper ballot would be used. Board of TellersNo. 1 was called to distribute the ballot as to whether to approve this report. Voteswere cast and collected, and tellers were dismissed to count the votes.The Nazarene Foundation video was presented. This foundation works withpeople to help them invest their estate/resources in God’s kingdom. Bill Ulmet was asked to pray the closing prayer.Ordination ServiceTuesday, July 26, 2011, 7:00 p.m.Dr. Eddie Estep welcomed everyone to the <strong>District</strong> <strong>Assembly</strong> OrdinationService, made announcements, and read scripture from Acts 13:3.Processional: As the congregation sang “Holiness Unto the Lord,” the threeretiring elders and spouses and the ordinand and spouse were led into the sanctuary.Statement of Purpose and Invocation: Dr. Jesse Middendorf explained that thepurpose of the ordination service is to celebrate the call of God on the lives of menand women to preach the gospel and to devote themselves full-time to the service ofChrist and His Church in behalf of the kingdom of God. He explained that theservice was both a time of sacredness and celebration. Dr. Middendorf then led thecongregation in prayer.Scripture Reading: Rev. Billy Williams, secretary of the Ministerial StudiesBoard, read Ephesians 4:1-7, 11-16.Dr. Estep led the congregation in reading The Apostles’ Creed.Recognition of Retiring Ministers: Rev. and Mrs. Bob Albert, Rev. and Mrs.George Gardner, and Rev. and Mrs. Dennis Johnson were called to the platform. Dr.Estep read biographical information on each retiree. They were granted the status ofretired assigned elders in the Church of the Nazarene.
