Standards and goals help to keep our priorities in theright perspective. Standards set rules for measuring, and goals keep us on the rightcourse.I. We recommend that each local NMI council meet promptly following thedistrict convention and make plans to receive all awards: Mission Priority One,World Evangelism Church of Excellence, and Exemplary NMI by participatingin all of the following:1. MISSION PRIORITY ONE. That each local church meets the followingfour goals to become a Mission Priority One Church:(1) PRAYING• Objective: To encourage people to pray for leaders andchurches and for the Holy Spirit to draw all people toChrist.• Requirement: The church will pray for missions.• Helpful Ideas:o Provide regular prayer requests to the church.Possible sources are Prayer Mobilization Line (call913-577-2990 or via e-mail subscription or the NMIWeb site www.nazarenemissions.org), missionaries’newsletters, personal contact with missionaries, etc.Disseminate through worship folders, handouts,pastoral prayer, announcements, church newsletters,etc.o Emphasize prayer and fasting.o Establish specific times for prayer and/or form aprayer chain/<strong>net</strong>work.o Plan church wide participation in World Day ofPrayer, Nazarene World Week of Prayer, and prayerfor the Persecuted Church, 10/40 Window, andJESUS film.(2) DISCIPLING132
