Jeremey Veal gave a report on NYC 2011. 60 people total went from ourdistrict. Westin Edwards shared his experience at NYC 2011. Jeremey also thankedthe adults that went.Mike introduced Tim Haynes. Tim gave a report on this years YouthServemission trip. This year they will be going to Chicago for inner city missions. Thecost is $795 for the trip. This price also includes camp registration. A video wasshown to promote the trip.A five minute break was taken and the meeting resumed.Jeremey covered a few of the events that are available this year for collegestudents, including the Passion Conference in Atlanta. The Cedar Point trip is August3-6. The cost is $100. Jeremey strongly suggested college students that want tovolunteer as youth workers on the district go to the Youth Workers Conference thisyear as well. Jeremey introduced the Trevecca video.Lauren Speers, the admissions counselor at Trevecca talked about theschool and upcoming events, including visitation days. She mentioned MissionNashville. A mission event starting this year that will take place in the Nashvillearea.Dr. Estep brought greetings from the NMI convention taking placesimultaneously. He also made mention that the NMI president talked about howinvolved the youth had been this past year in the missions trips and events. Dr. Estepthanked the students for the impact they have made this year. Dr. Estep introducedMike and invited him to present his President’s report.Mike gave the President’s report. There was a motion made to accept thereport, a second and it was unanimously accepted by a loud and resounding “Yes!”from the delegates.Dr. Estep asked the delegates to turn in their handbooks to the electionballot #1. He asked that the students make a large X on the right side of the page(thus eliminating one of the duplicate ballots on the page).Lori called the board of tellers to the front. Allison Dixon, MaggieEdwards, Blake Winchester, Jesse Merrit, Kaylea Dresner, Ashlyn Sandifer,Chandler McAdory. The vote for President was cast, retrieved and closed.Mike asked David Snodgrass to lead in a couple of songs while we waitedfor the ballot to be counted.Lori announced the ballot results for President. 108 ballots cast, 108 yes.Mike O’Hair was unanimously voted SC <strong>District</strong> NYI President for 2012Mike then introduced Michael Johnson. Michael thanked the SC <strong>District</strong>and recollected when he first started working with the district in 1979. Hecomplimented the district on how many adults there are working in the events on thisdistrict. He thanked the leadership, both paid and volunteers who have giventhemselves to the lives of students on this district.Lori introduced the Board of Tellers for ballot #2, Westin Edwards, AshleyHazey, Kolby Benton, Christina Hannah, Reba Hughes, Tanner Bell, AdamWilliamson.126
