It is recommended that each pastor and NMI president plan forand publicize the missionary deputation service scheduled bythe District Deputation Coordinator. A healthy involvement inthe total mission program, by both the local church and thedistrict, is partially dependent on a yearly visit from amissionary. The missionary is the liaison with the worldmission areas where the Church of the Nazarene is at work.At the deputation service, a deputation check written out to theGeneral Treasurer Church of the Nazarene, should be given tothe missionary. The missionary will mail this deputationcheck to Kansas City. Suggested deputation check amounts:Sunday A.M. Service - $400 to $500 minimumSunday P.M. Service - $250 to $350 minimumWeekday Service - $225 to $325 minimumAfter the missionary speaks, a love offering is encouraged, inaddition to the deputation check. This helps with themissionary’s deputation tour expenses.(8) Participate in the Compassionate Ministries Offering andwhen possible be involved in a project or child sponsorship.There is no goal set.(9) Respond to specific District or General NMI designatedemergency needs as presented.II. An Exemplary Commendation will be given at the District NMI Convention toevery pastor and NMI President of the churches that meet all the above goalsqualifying them for the Exemplary Award.III. We recommend that the local NMI council members, when possible, beconsidered as nominees for election as delegates to the district NMI convention.IV. We recommend that local NMI presidents send their annual reports to thedistrict NMI secretary to be received no later than the established deadline.V. We recommend that each local NMI council be provided with a NazareneMissions International Handbook, or copies of the member’s particularresponsibilities.VI. We recommend that each local NMI council encourage and assist their pastor(s)with Work & Witness expenses.VII. We recommend that each local NMI council encourage and assist lay person(s)with Work & Witness expenses.135
