expansion gap to the wall. Mark the cutting-line by using another
plank (without the lower groove). Once cut, lay the plank to its final
position. Continue with the other planks of the last row in the same
manner. If the door frame has to be sawn away, use a piece of cut plank
as a height gauge. When tapping a plank towards its longitudinal direction
make sure to keep the expansion gap by inserting a piece of cut plank
behind it.
Do not press the skirting boards downwards, so that the flooring can
move in the expansion gap. All connecting bars have to be fastened to the
concrete beneath, which allows the parquet’s natural movements.
11. Mounting holes: the fixtures for posts (volleyball nets, goals etc) have to
be set into the concrete with their upper surface at level with the subfloor
or shortly beneath. The holes for the fixtures and fittings should be made
with a hole-cutter/ hollow drill.
12. The planks can be installed in all directions if necessary. Should a plank
not be able to be angled like under door frames or very low radiators, it is
best to proceed like this: 12a. Remove two-third of the interlocking-nose
with a chisel 12b., apply some glue and push the plank into position. If
further constructional activities take place after the parquet’s installation,
make sure to protect the floor with a moisture-permeable material.
Field markings
The unlacquered parquet must be cleaned thoroughly following the
instructions of the lacquer’s manufacturer before applying the markings. The
application of the markings has to be executed by trained personal.
Lacquering the surface of parquet with field marking:
Lacquering can be done 24 hours after the markings have been applied. Keep
in mind that the floor might have to be cleaned again in order to be completely
freed of dirt and dust. During the process of lacquering, the room and lacquer
temperature must not fall beneath 18°C (64°C). Apply and spread lacquer with
a roller. Not lacquering the floor will lead to abrasion of the field markings,
which will have to be replaced from time to time.
