For a perfect fitting it is necessary that the bottom-cheek of the longitudinal
groove as well as the cross-ridge is removed. This can be done on-site
(if only 1-2 strips have to be replaced) using the utility blade. If more than
two strips have to be replaced it is best to prepare some strips in the
factory with the circular saw bench.
After a dry fitting-test and possible changes the strip can applied with adhesive
and subsequently installed to its final position. The installed strip should be
loaded with weight during the adhesive’s setting time.
12.2 Replacement of floating laid strips with
Woodloc-joints (Maxipark and Slimwood)
Alternative 1
This is an easy method. The floor is uninstalled up to where the damaged strip
lays, the strip is then removed and the floor is laid back again.
The best result can be achieved when replacing the damaged strip with
another strip from near where the damaged one was, because this strip will
look the most similar since it has been subject to the same amount of wear
and stress. The spare strip should be laid where the initial colour difference is
not clearly visible – e.g. near a wall or underneath furnishing.
Parquet floors with Woodloc-joints can be installed from the back to front and
from left to right or vice versa.
